Paul Turney
Paul is a Fulbright Scholar in Economics. He joined the Halliburton Company's Brown & Root division, focusing on the development of international oil, gas, power and infrastructure projects. He Joined National Power (UK) in 1997 as Regional Director for Southeast Asia , he led the successful development of a greenfield power plant in Thailand, and the acquisition of a major stake in Malaysia's largest private power company.
He also served as Regional Director for the West Mediterranean, managing investments in Spain and Portugal totalling 2500 MW and leading a major new generation development programme in Italy. He became Managing Director for Renewables for International Power in 2003.
Paul is now CEO of Renewable Capital, based in London, which is an investment fund into renewable energy opportunities. After acquisition or start-up, Paul directs the management team towards tactical, operational and financial targets.
